Alan Ray Partridge, 1029 W. Jefferson St., Plymouth, died at 2:02 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2000, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Alan was 53 years old; he had suffered from esophageal cancer for the past two years.
Born on September 19, 1946, in Biloxi, Mississippi, Alan was the son of the late Frederick Ray Partridge and Gloria Matthews McLaughlin. He graduated from Monroe Catholic Central High School, Monroe, Michigan, in 1965.
Alan served in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969. During that time he had a tour of duty in Viet Nam jointly with the Air Force and Marine Corp.
On January 16, 1979, in St. Joseph, Michigan, Alan and Mary Kossnar were married.
He worked at the Plymouth McCord Corporation, as a millwright until becoming disabled in 1984.
Alan is survived by his wife, Mary and four children: Jason and his wife Melissa Partridge, Bloomington, Ind., Todd and his wife Chrissy Partridge, Valparaiso, Ind., and Alicia and Joshua Partridge, at home in Plymouth.
Also surviving is his father, Hubert McLaughlin, Monroe, Michigan, and three sisters. They are: Connie McLaughlin-Miley and her husband, Jerry Miley, Ann Arbor, Michigan, Janis Hennessee of Garland, Texas and Linda and Donald Steinman, Monore, Michigan. Several nieces and nephews survive as well.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jared: his birth father, Frederick Partridge and his mother.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 30, 2000, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. A prayer service will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday, July 31, 2000, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Father Expedito Muwonge will officiate. Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
