Aletha Marcelle Shaffer

Aletha Marcelle Shaffer, formerly of Argos, went to be with our Lord on January 18, 2025, at her home following an illness.

The daughter of Carl and Gladys Sanders, Aletha was born on March 10, 1931, in Rochester IN. She was a graduate of Argos High School, the class of 1949.

On July 31, 1949, in Argos IN, she married Dee Ward Shaffer. They raised sons Dave and Jerry, Dave survives.

Aletha resided in Argos until 1976 before moving to Pensacola FL to run a family business with husband Dee. In 1998 Aletha returned to reside in South Bend IN.

Aletha was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dee and son Jerry.

Survivors are son Dave Shaffer and wife Cynthia of Osceola IN , daughter in-law Sharon Shaffer of Kansas City MO, 4 grandchildren; Justin Shaffer and wife Melissa of New Palestine IN, Craig Shaffer of Osceola IN, Christopher Shaffer and wife Elizabeth of Kansas City MO, and Amanda Mykins and husband Terry of Kansas City MO. Aletha also enjoyed 7 great grandchildren; Allyson, Caitlyn, Ava, Jackson, Eleanor, Hannah and Morgan.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 11-1 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral services will immediately follow.

Burial will take place in the IOOF Richland Center Cemetery, Rochester.
