Alice Stull Shaffer 98, formerly of Plymouth passed away on Saturday evening September 1, 2018 at 7:15 P.M. at the Rittenhouse Village in Michigan City, Indiana. She was born in Plymouth to Palmer and Lena (Miles) Thompson on October 9, 1919.
She graduated from Tyner High School in 1937. She then married Dean Stull and then married Ernest Eugene Shaffer on April 3, 1983 in the Plymouth Wesleyan Church and he preceded her in death on December 3, 2009.
Alice was a home maker and always had a large garden on the family farm and was a member of the Plymouth Wesleyan Church. She was also a member of the Farm Bureau. She was an avid quilt maker and a very accomplished pie baker.
Alice is survived by sons: Larry (Mary Lee) Stull of South Bend, and Roger Stull of Plymouth; daughters: Linda McCarthy of Michigan City and Barbara (Robert) Milligan of Lake Park, Florida and also sisters; Marilyn Miller of Plymouth. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dean Stull and Ernest Shaffer, and her Brother Melvin Thompson, Sister Ruth Redcay, and son-in-law David McCarthy.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Alice on Thursday September 6, 2018 from 6:00-to-8:00 P.M. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday September 7, 2018 at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home with Revs. Ed Friberg and Ollie Dongell officiating. The interment will take place immediately following the service at the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
