Amy Elaine Eisenhour

December 17, 1956 — June 6, 2013

Former Plymouth resident, Amy Elaine Eisenhour, 56, died of a cancer related illness at the Plymouth home of her brother, Al, Thursday evening, June 6, 2013. She has resided in South Bend for the past four years.

Amy was born in Plymouth on December 17, 1956. She was the daughter of the late Richard N. and Silva M. (Snyder) Eisenhour.

She graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1975, attended Manchester College and graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington campus with a four year Bachelor of Science degree. A true 1960’s spirited person, she enjoyed her canine friends and nature’s way of living. Amy embraced ora balancing, natural healing and a vegan health regimen. She was active in social work and taught English to Puerto Ricans while living there for over seven years. She also had resided in Bedford, Indiana for 10 years.

Amy most recently had worked at a South Bend Wal-Mart as a cashier and appreciated the company and fellow employee’s concern as she faced her illness. She attended the Unity Church of Peace, South Bend, where she found encouragement. Amy had also assisted in the efforts of the Baha’i Faith.

Amy is survived by her brothers, Al Eisenhour of Plymouth and Martin J. (Dee) Eisenhour, Greenwood, IN. Three nieces and a nephew survive as well. They are: Kyanne Eisenhour, Stephanie O’Neal, Zebrina Jarboe and Kameron Eishenour.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm on Sunday, June 16, 2013, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 North Michigan Street, Plymouth.

Memorial services for Amy will follow the visitation at 4 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Sandie Vanik, pastor of the Unity Church of Peace will officiate.

Interment will be at a later date in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
