Andrew J. Veclotch, 85, a former resident of Lake of the Woods, Bremen, most recently of 71 18th Ave. South, Lake Worth, Florida, 33460, has died.
Andy died, following an illness, on Monday, February 21, 2000, at 1:15 p.m. in the Hospice and Home Care By the Sea, Boca Raton, Florida.
Born in Bremen, Ind. on September 29, 1914, Andy was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Yandl Veclotch. He attended St. Michael’s Academy and graduated from LaPaz High School.
On May 4, 1944, in Plymouth, Ind. he and Cecelia R. Emenaker were married.
Andy and Cecelia and family members operated Veclotch’s Family Resort and Lodge at Lake of the Woods for many years.
He was known as a good neighbor. He enjoyed sharing the harvest of his fruit trees with family and friends.
Andy was a member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Plymouth and the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lake Worth.
Cecelia, his wife of fifty-five years, survives his death, together with Helen Veclotch, a sister-in-law of Palm Beach, Florida; brothers-in-law; Harold W. Price and Dr. John Bottorff, Sr., both of Plymouth survives as well, together with several nieces and nephews throughout the Plymouth area.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Frank Veclotch, three sisters, Dorothy Wantuzh, Oliveta Campbell and Lucille Emenaker.
Friends may call on Friday, February 25, 2000, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Indiana. A Rosary will be said on that evening at 7:30 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Anthony Gillespie, pastor of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 625 S. Center Street, Plymouth, at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2000.
Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Plymouth.
