Ann M. Rensberger

Ann M. Rensberger, 78, died unexpectedly of natural causes at her home, 10830 9A Rd., Plymouth, at 8:07 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2005.

She had been a Plymouth resident for the past forty years and was a loving supportive mother and grandmother.

Born in Chicago on January 5, 1927, she was the daughter of Patrick A. and Anna McDonald Hogan. She graduated from Chicago’s Spaulding High School with the class of 1945 and attended DePaul University for two years.

On April 16, 1955, in St. Basil’s Roman Catholic Church, Chicago, Ann and Henry L. Rensberger were married. Henry died on September 13, 2003.

She worked for the Chicago publishing company of Scott-Forseman, as a billing clerk, until moving to Plymouth as a full-time homemaker for her husband and children.

Ann loved reading. She was an expert seamstress and enjoyed cooking for her family. Working with ceramics was a fun hobby of hers.

A life-long long distance swimmer, she was a member of the Chicago Swim Club and continued her exercise in a water aerobics class that met at Ancilla College, and later at the Super 8 Motel.

An election day volunteer, Ann worked at the polls. She also volunteered at the Kiwanis Camp for Children as well as a Cub Scout Leader and 4-H mother for years.

She was a member of Saint Michael’s Roman Catholic Church and was a volunteer in the bookstore, the gift shop and served with the Altar and Rosary Society.

Ann is survived by three sons and a daughter. Her sons are: Terry L. and Jill Rensberger, South Bend; Paul A. Rensberger, Vancouver, Washington; and Bill H. Rensberger, South Bend, Ind. Her daughter, Judy A. and Raoul Donati live in Osceola, Ind.

Seven grandchildren also survive their devoted grandmother’s death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Greenlee Rensberger. A sister, Lorraine Senn, has also died.

Ann’s family will welcome friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2005, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth and continue after 7 a.m. Tuesday. A rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, in Saint Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 625 S. Center St., Plymouth. Father William Kummer will officiate.

Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
