Lifetime Plymouth resident and respected dairy farmer, Arthur D. Lawrence, 96, passed away Saturday afternoon in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center – Plymouth.
Art was born on October 2, 1914 in Plymouth, the son of Alfred C. and Junette (Low) Lawrence. He graduated from Plymouth Lincoln High School in 1932.
On May 23, 1944 in Knox he took as his bride Alice Warren. She survives along with daughters; Jeannie Lawrence of Leesburg, FL and Evelyn (Charles) Snyder, of Placentia, CA, sons; John (Jan) Lawrence and Timothy Lawrence of Plymouth, step-daughter Mary Ruth Muffley of Plymouth and a daughter Lorraine (Joe) Fredrick of Claypool, IN along with several grand and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother Willard Lawrence.
Art and Alice were longtime members of the First United Church of Christ.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 31st in the New Oakhill Cemetery Chapel, Plymouth. The Rev. Tom Padberg will preside. There will be no visitation. Burial will follow.
