Barbara Joy Stopper

Barbara Joy Stopper, 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 29, 2023 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Walkerton. Born December 2, 1941, in Plymouth, she is the daughter of Howard Roush and Ruth Phillips.
Barbara attended Teagarden School and went on to work at EZ Heat for 20 years. She also spent 7 years working at Hilltop Restaurant. She married the love of her life, Robert L. Stopper on January 14, 1984 in Plymouth. They celebrated 38 years of marriage together before his passing on October 30, 2022.
Barbara was a lifelong member of the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren in North Liberty. She faithfully attended church and loved visiting with others at church functions. She loved watching butterflies and admiring their beauty. Barbara had a love for cooking and having her family gather to enjoy meals together.
Barbara is survived by her sisters, Sallie Becherl of North Liberty and Sharon Grady McKay of Ft. Wayne; along with many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Howard & Ruth Roush; and siblings, Gene Roush and Phyllis Dolph.
A private burial will take place at Morris Cemetery in Walkerton, IN
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 16, 2023 at 12pm at the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, 25075 Stanton Rd, North Liberty, IN 46554.
