Barbara L. Douglass, 93, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 6, 2024 at We Belong Senior Home in Plymouth.
Born on May 14, 1930 in Nappanee, Indiana she was the daughter of Hubert and Mamie (Warren) Hartman. She attended Nappanee High School graduating with the class of 1948. She moved to Bremen in 1957 and married Eugene Douglass on September 28, 1958 in Warsaw. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1992.
Barbara enjoyed crocheting and sewing; often sewing bunny rabbits and Raggedy Ann Dolls. She loved playing the piano and taking walks. Barbara also enjoyed line dancing in her younger years. In her free time, she volunteered with Real Services before her health would no longer allow her to do so. She will be remembered dearly by her family for her feisty personality.
She is survived by her children: Darla Sterling of Nappanee; Gary (Shirley) Douglass of Plymouth; Kevin (Crystal) Douglass of Wooster, OH; grandchildren: Lori, Chase, Brad, Chase, Gabe, Sean, Carrie, Greg, Art, Kaitlyn, Kristen and Kyle; Great-Grandchildren: Carissa, Zack, Lane, Jacob, Evan, Macy, James, MacKenzie and Art III; and Great-Great Grandchild, Serenity.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; husband Eugene; and siblings, Gerald Hartman and Lois Losee.
A private burial will take place in the Bremen Cemetery, Bremen.
