Bonnie Koopmans, 6254 Queen Rd., died of natural causes following an extended illness at 11:22 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2005, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. She was 67- years- old.
Bonnie was born in St. Ann, Ill., the daughter of Daniel and Violet Laramore on April 2, 1938.
She graduated from St. Ann High School with the class of 1956.
On April 25, 1958, in St. Ann, Ill., Bonnie and Melvin Koopmans were married.
They moved to Plymouth from St. Charles, Illinois in 1971.
A farm wife, she also worked at the Indiana License Branch from 1973 through 1976.
She enjoyed her children and grandchildren and working and helping out on the farm.
Bonnie is survived by Melvin, her husband of 47 years and by their children: two daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren.
They are: Tracey and Rich Leeper and their sons, Jon and Adam Leeper, all of Argos, Ind.
Trudey and Jack Bonnema and their two sons and a daughter, Jacob, Nathan and Kelsey Bonnema, all of Peotone, Ill.
A brother and sister-in-law, Daryl and Joyce Laramore, of Calif., survive as well.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Dallas Laramore. Friends will be welcomed by the family to share memories of Bonnie and to celebrate her life on Monday, December 19, 2005, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Ind. There will also be calling one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
Funeral services for Bonnie will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2005, in the Sun Rise Chapel where she was a member. The Rev. Robert Beyler, former pastor of Sunrise Chapel, will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery.
