Candice R. “Candy” Geasey Baca, 44, died at home, 14370 Union Rd., Culver, Ind., after a year-long battle with cancer at 2:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 11, 2002. Candy was born in Mishawaka, the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth M. Green Geasey, on Sept. 17, 1958. She was a 1977 graduate of Plymouth High School. On Dec. 11, 1996, in Plymouth, Candy and Salvador “Chava” Baca were married. She worked at A.O. Safety (formerly American Optical) on Jefferson St., Plymouth, for approximately twelve years. Always smiling, Candy loved her family dearly and was a big supporter of many charities. She adored animals, country music and crocheting things for her family and friends. Candy is survived by her husband and by two sisters; Deb Geasey and Pam Hunsaker, both of Plymouth. Two nephews, Jade and Kalin Hunsaker and two great-nephews, Raynen and Daemon, all of Plymouth, survive as well. Her parents preceded her in death. Friends may call and visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, in the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Krieg, pastor of Salem United Methodist Church, Bremen, Indiana will officiate. Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth. Memorials in Candy’s memory may be made to the Pet Refuge, South Bend, Indiana or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
