Carl R. Lehiy, 71, of 12594 Upas Rd, Plymouth, died at 6:42 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at Saint Joseph Regional Medcal Center, Plymouth, following a lengthy illness. Carl had been an area resident all of his life.
Born in Hamlet on August 25, 1932, Carl was the son of Carl and Esther Magarrell Lehiy.
Carl attended school in Grovertown. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
On July 9, 1961, Carl married Betty J. Sickmiller in Bremen.
He retired from Bendix in South Bend.
Carl is survived by his wife Betty, three sons, Tom Lehiy, Bill Lehiy and Brian Lehiy, and a step-daughter, Patricia Ann Hoover, all of Plymouth.
Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren and two sisters: Juanita McCartny of Logansport and Kathleen Krow of Walkerton also survive, along with several nieces and nephews.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Darla, a step-son, Mike Zuelling, and two sisters, Delores Bridegroom and Norine White.
Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, December 6, 2003 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St, Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held following visitation at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
Burial will follow in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Carl’s memory may be made to a charity of the Donor’s choice.
