Carol Sue (Decker) Stoneburner, 83, life-long resident of Marshall County, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 in the Catherine Kasper Life Center, Donaldson.
Carol was born September 27, 1934 in Monterey, Indiana, to the late William and Ernestine (Rock) Decker.
She graduated from Monterey High School in 1952. She then went on to attend Ancilla College.
Carol married Richard Stoneburner February 2, 1979 in Elkhart, Indiana; and he survives.
Carol retired April 1, 2000 after thirteen years of service as a manager from Southmore Mutual Housing Corporation in South Bend.
Carol loved to sit in the backyard at home and watch all the wildlife.
She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-nine years; Richard Stoneburner, son; Michael A. Kowatch of South Bend, granddaughter; Barbara Kowatch of Plymouth, great-grandson; Jacob Kowatch of Plymouth, and a sister; Judith (Richard) Minniear of Muncie.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son, John Robert Kowatch, and five siblings.
Per Carol’s wishes, she has chosen cremation and no services are planned at this time.
Inurnment will take place in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth, at a later date.
