Cecelia M. Bowman, 92, 316 Woodies Lane, Bremen, Ind., died of natural causes in the Bremen Health Care Center at 3 a.m., on Wednesday, January 19, 2000. Cecelia was a resident of the Bremen and LaPaz area for over 74 years.
She was born on December 29, 1907, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Charlie and Lucille Conover Huffman. She attended schools in McLean, Illinois.
On June 13, 1925, in McLean,Ill., Cecelia and Bert A. Bowman were married. Bert died on March 31, 1973.
She was a dedicated homemaker. She enjoyed reading and being with her grandchildren.
Cecelia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth B. and Hilda M. Bowman of Plymouth. Two grandsons and a granddaughter also survive. They are: Kent Dale Bowman and Hal Wayne Bowman, both of Plymouth and Kitty Ann Garnand, of Lebanon, Ind. A daughter-in-law, Josephine Bowman, LaPaz, and five great-grandchildren survive as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Delbert Charles Bowman who died on October 17, 1999, four brothers and two sisters.
At her request, there will be no public visitation.
Family services for Cecelia will be held Saturday, January 22, 2000, in the New Oakhill Chapel. The Rev. Maurice Grindle, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Cecelia’s name may be made to the Marshall County Hospice.
