Charles H. Miller, 96, died at 3:25 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
Born in Bippus, Ind., Huntington County, on May 29, 1911, Charles was the son of Marvin A. and Edith Coverdale Miller.
He graduated from Bippus High School with the class of 1930 and attended Curtis Trade School in Chiciago, Ill, and worked as a tool and die maker as a profession.
Charles worked at Indiana Tool and McCords for several years. In his early years, he worked at John Meck Industries, in Plymouth.
On Nov. 19, 1938, he and Mabel Parsons of Plymouth, were married.
An expert horseman and a member of the Marshall County Horse Association, he was a special Deputy Sheriff with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Posse and Reserve unit, serving since 1965. In the 1940s, he also served in the Civil Air Patrol.
Charles is survived by a son, Stephen and Janice Miller of Plymouth.
He has two grandchildren, Curtis and Susan Miller, Glen St. Mary, Fla., and Joanna and Brett Crump of New Palestine, Ind. Three great-grandchildren survie as well.
Charles was predeceased by his wife, Mabel and a brother, Merwin Miller of Huntington, Ind., and a sister, Dorothy, Thomson of Ellenton, Fla.
The Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, is assisting with the private arrangements.
