Chester Wilcox, 91, died at his home, 242 Pennsylvania Ave., Plymouth, at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, February, 21, 2008.
Born in Bremen, Indiana, on, October 28, 1916, Chester was the son of Arthur and Elma Pike Wilcox.
On August 10, 1938, Chester and Leona Mae Masterson were married in Plymouth. Leona Mae, his wife of sixty-two years, died in October of 2000. On February 17, 2001, Chester and Helen Masterson were married.
He was employed for many years at Koppenhoffer Lumber.
Chester is survived by his wife Helen and by his two sons, Edward and Shirley Hite Wilcox, Argos and Arthur and Linda Wilcox, Plymouth.
He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Bope, Plymouth, Indiana
Seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and many great great grandchildren also survive along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, a grandson, a sister, Doris McFarland. Four brothers, Russell, Aaron, Ralph and Edgar also have died.
Chester was baptized on October 22, 2006, in Plymouth’s Wesleyan Church.
Graveside services will be held in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 11:00 am. The Rev. John Branch, pastor of the Plymouth Wesleyan Church, will officiate. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the Plymouth Wesleyan Church, 11203 S. Michigan Rd.
