Clyde Odel Vermillion, 96, passed away early Saturday morning, May 21, 2016 at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center – Plymouth Campus. Clyde was a life-time Plymouth resident. He was born May 9, 1920 in Marshall County, to the late Lawrence O. and Bertha May (Calhorn) Vermillion.
On May 12, 1941, Clyde married Dorothy Jane Booker; they enjoyed sixty-seven years together before her passing on July 7, 2008.
Clyde retired in 1985 from the McCord’s Radiator in Plymouth after thirteen years of service. A very active man, Clyde enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding horses and ponies, as well as spending time with his family and grandchildren. Surviving are his two sons; James A. Vermillion and his life-long partner, DebraTaulbee of Plymouth, and Dennis L. (Margaret) Vermillion of Walkerton. Also surviving are six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 North Michigan Street, with Rev. Charles Krieg officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM until time of service on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Plymouth.
