David Lowell “Davey” Stayton Sr., 81, a resident of Sycamore St., Plymouth passed away of natural causes at 7:36 p.m. Tuesday in South Bend Memorial Hospital.
He was a lifetime Marshall County resident and was born the son of Lowell and Sylvia (Jones) Stayton in Argos on February 28, 1934. He was a graduate of Argos High School.
On May 18, 1957 in Argos, he married Norma Hall and together for the next 58 years they have enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing and playing euchre.
As a young man he drove for Walt Danielson Milk Transport but retired from Indiana Heat Transfer (formerly McCord Corp.) in 2009 after 40 years of service.
Davey is survived by his wife Norma and five children: Jo (Kenneth) Hundt of Plymouth, David (Johanna) Stayton Jr. of Argos, Johny (Tami) Stayton of Plymouth, Gene Stayton of South Bend and Karen Stayton of Plymouth along with seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. One sister Doris (Stayton) Hooker of Plymouth also survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends from 3 – 4 p.m. on Sunday November 22nd in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Services will begin there at 4 p.m. Rev. Ed Friberg of Plymouth Wesleyan Church will officiate.
