David Charles Lattimer, 80, passed away on September 12, 2024 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. The son of Albert Eugene Lattimer and Dixie Ann Fraizer, David was born on August 13, 1944 in Rochester.

David graduated with the Plymouth High School Class of 1962. His commitment to service was evident in his 26-year career as an Indiana State Trooper, where he took great pride in protecting and serving his community. During his time on the force, David had the honor of being a member of the Scuba Diving and Aviation teams. After retiring in 1992, he transitioned to work as an insurance investigator until 2000, and later served as a bus driver for Plymouth Schools, while also volunteering as a CASA caseworker.

On September 20, 1985, David married Wanda Wagner in Plymouth. Together, they blended their families and spent nearly 40 years creating cherished memories.

David’s interests included flying, a passion that began in 1969 and extended to helicopters in 1973. He was an active member of the Mentone Flying Club, where he built lasting friendships. In July 2010, he was appointed as the Plymouth Airport Manager by former Mayor Mark Senter, a position he held until 2017.

A unique aspect of David's life was his love for beekeeping, and he often treated his friends and family with gifts of honey.

Above all, family was the heart and soul of David's life. He treasured the moments spent with his children and found immense joy in being a grandparent to his beloved grandchildren. David's legacy of love and service will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

David is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Wanda; children, Kimberly (Barry) Blackwell and Scott Lattimer (Mary Ellen Bormett) and their mother, Kay Lattimer; step-children, Mike (Karen) Wagner and Jason (Natalie) Wagner; grandchildren, Riley, Brayton, Sophie, Brendan, Izzy, Trent (Kyle), Nathan (Brittany), Lydia, Maddie (Chase), Allyssa( Darren), Erika, Alexa, and Bret; great-grandchildren, Emmett, Isla, Ayden, Everly, and Aspen; siblings, Rebecca Hindman, and John (Gwen) Lattimer; and sister-in-law, Suzanne Lattimer and Sandy Manooses. David will also be missed by his special buddy and neighbor, Jaxin Robbins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Dixie; step-father, Brock Miller; and brother, Michael Lattimer.

A graveside service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Oakhill Cemetery, 1300 Chester Street, Plymouth, IN 46563.
