David W. Lloyd, 66, went home to be with his Savior on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.
Born on October 30, 1957, in Springfield, Illinois he was the son of William R. and Joyce F. (Butler) Lloyd.
He attended Metamora Township High School in Metamora, Il graduating with the class of 1976. David, following his passion for music, went onto Bradley University, receiving his bachelor’s degree in music education and graduating with the class of 1980.
David met Betty Andre through the Lee Meyer’s Singers and they were married on July 17, 1982, at Liberty Bible Church in Chesterton, IN. He worked as a computer programmer for Hoosier Tire. David was a fun, loving, optimistic man. He had a love for music, teaching middle schoolers how to read music in the early years of his degree. He believed that learning was a lifelong skill. He volunteered his time with his children teaching English at Hearts and Hands for numerous years.
David modeled his life after the Word of God by his patience and joyfulness. As a father he found humor in waking his children up with the blasting of a trumpet and peacefully putting them to bed with the gentleness of the piano.
He was a faithful member of Crossroads Church in Plymouth.
He is survived by his wife, Betty. His Children: Jonathan Lloyd, Laura (Dylan) Miller, and Audra Lloyd; grandchildren: Zelda, Azalea, and Vera Miller; sisters: Evelyn McCambridge and Barbara Lloyd.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 11-1 at Crossroads Church, 1650 N Oak Dr, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral services will immediately follow with Pastor Scott Yoder officiating.
Burial will take place in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
