David F. Schwartz, 73, passed away on April 7, 2024 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. He was born on November 12, 1950 in Chicago, IL to Virginia Klein Musick.
Dave married Linda Noel at Roselle Methodist Church on October 1, 1978. They remained faithful members of the church until they moved to Plymouth in 2019. Linda and Dave raised three children, Rene, Jason, and Sara, and created countless memories in the 45 years they spent together.
Working diligently as a mechanic throughout the years, Dave embodied what it meant to work hard and provide for his family. He was the go-to guy for his family since he could work on anything. He was known as a jack-of-all-trades and could work on anything including machinery, cars, or masonry, remodeling the house, wiring, toys, or building RC Boats. Dave’s son followed in his footsteps of being a mechanic and took on the same love for working on things. Through the years, Dave was the perfect example for his daughters of what it meant to be a “Mans-Man” and taught them to be strong, independent women.
Some of Dave and Linda’s happiest memories were traveling and exploring new destinations. Dave’s absolute favorite place to visit was Savannah, GA. When he wasn’t traveling, he could often be found caring for his yard and the flower beds around the house; it wouldn’t be abnormal for his girls to find a fresh set of roses waiting for them after he had been outside.
Dave will be deeply missed by his wife, Linda; daughter, Rene Schwartz of Illinois, son and daughter-in-law, Jason & Jennifer Schwartz of Iowa, and daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Ivan Schwartz-Graves of Colorado. He was a proud papa of his granddaughter, Kaley “Squid” Miller-Graves of Colorado. He is also survived by his brother, Arthur Musick, and nephew, Jeremiah Musick.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia; and brothers, Dennis “Butch” Schwartz and Gerald Musick.
A private burial will take place in Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, IL.
