Diana Dee Wiles

July 29, 1945 — February 18, 2008

Diana Dee Wiles was born in Plymouth, Indiana on July 29, 1945, the daughter of Adam Robert and Mildred Eva Snider Thompson. She passed away at home after a lengthy battle with Cancer on February 18 at 2:58 AM.

She was a 1963 graduate of Plymouth High School. She attended Ball State University. She graduated with a certificate from Famous Artists School in Connecticut. Diana was married to Earl C. Wiles in 1964. She is survived by a daughter Sue and her husband Ron Goote, her mother Mildred Eva Snider Thompson (Fremont) Books. Also surviving are one brother Jerry (Nina) Thompson of Tucson, AZ and one sister Ellen (Ron) Baney of Lakeville, IN. Four granchildren: Tiffany Buchanan, Michael Buchanan, Tiana Hlawacz and Alyxandra Hlawacz. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl.

She enjoyed farming with Earl. They raised beef cattle, rabbits and horses. They owned Twin Lakes Saddle Repair Shop. They were involved with 4-H horse, pony and rabbit clubs. Dee was very active in local rabbit clubs and always willing to help newcomers learn more about raising and showing rabbits. Together they were members of the American Rabbit Breeders Assn, National Rex Club, Indiana State Rex RBA, Sycamore Satin RBA. She was the Secretary-Treasurer for the Indiana State Rex RBA for many years. Dee was a very bright woman with many talents. She was an accomplished pianist/organist and greatly enjoyed playing and sharing her musical talents. She was an accomplished artist working in all mediums, from canvas to wood. She designed jewelry and crafts, lapidary and wood carving. She received recognition for her art and jewelry through many displays at local libraries and craft shows. They sold stone jewelry and crafts at the Culver Farmer’s Market.

Memorial services for Dee will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2008, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Friends are invited to visit with her family from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the services.
