Donald B. Caldwell, a resident of Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, since 1998, died at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2004. Don, 73, died of natural causes in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Don was born April 6, 1931, in Kirklin, Ind., the son of Abraham and Florence Edna Smith Caldwell. He was a graduate of Akron High School, where his favorite subject was English. He also participated in sports while in high school.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. After serving his country, Don worked for 24 years at the Peabody Factory, where school furniture was manufactured.
Don was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Plymouth, and the American Legion. He was a faithful reader of the daily newspaper, enjoyed watching television, and liked a good cup of coffee.
Don was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation was Tuesday, May 11, 2004 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth. Funeral Services, officiated by the Rev. William Kaster, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, were held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial was in Akron Cemetery, Akron, Ind.
