Donald W. Rininger, 73, of 5006 N. Michigan Road, Plymouth, Ind., died at 1:20 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2005 in the Hospice House , South Bend.
The son of Lyle and Helen Shaffer Rininger, Donald was born on January 3, 1932 in South Bend, Ind.. He graduated in 1947 from the South Bend School system.
Donald served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
On September 29, 1950, in Roseland, Donald and Carol I. Sample were married. Carol died September 7, 2003.
He had worked for many years in auto body repair, and in the latter years, he enjoyed doing furniture repair and upholstery.
He enjoyed camping at Jellystone at Plymouth, and was also a collector of antiques.
Surviving are three sons: Lyle L. (Glenda) Rininger of South Bend, Donald E Rininger and Todd L. Rininger, both of Plymouth, and two daughters: Susan I. Rininger and Linda K. (Terry) Seeders, both of Plymouth. Seven grandchildren: Peter Rininger, Joshua Rininger, Matthew Rininger and Jessica Rininger, all of South Bend, and Jack Seeders, Cory Seeders, and Mark Seeders, all of Plymouth, and two great grandchildren: Riley Joseph Rininger of South Bend and Dylan Michael Seeders of Mishawaka, also survive, along with a brother, Paul E. Rininger of South Bend.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Mark W. Rininger and two brothers: Dean Rininger and Charles Rininger.
A celebration of Donald’s life and visitation with his family will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2005, in the Johnson – Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N, Michigan St., Plymouth.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home.
Interment will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Donald’s memory may be made to the Marshall – Starke Development Center, Plymouth.
