Dorothy Jane Vermillion, 83, 2131 N. Oak Rd., Plymouth, died of natural causes in Pilgrim Manor, 222 Parkview St., on Monday, July 7, 2008.
Dorothy was a lifetime Plymouth resident.
She was born October 2, 1924 to Melvin and Ella Earl Booker.
She attended Culver High School.
Married on May 12, 1941, to Clyde O. Vermillion, they enjoyed 67 years together.
She was employed for over 25 years at Wagner Wire in Plymouth.
A very active woman, Dorothy enjoyed camping, traveling and horseback riding. She baked, canned food and went motorcycling riding with her husband.
She is survived by her husband and their two sons: James A. and Dennis L. (Margaret) Vermillion
Nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers and two sisters. They are: Marion, Delma and Oscar Booker and Beulah Medic and Geraldine Shafer.
Friends will be welcomed by the family to celebrate Dorothy’s life from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2008, at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Ind.
Funeral services for Dorothy will follow visitation at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Krieg will officiate.
Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
