Dorothy Jean Zehner, 74, a resident of Orlando, Florida since 1987, died, following an illness, on Saturday afternoon, June 30, 2007, in the Rio Pinar Health Care Center in Orlando.
Dorothy was born the daughter of Byrum Nelson and Ethel May Pontious Wagoner in Leiters Ford, Indiana, on September 11, 1932.
She graduated from Argos High School and earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University/South Bend.
On May 28, 1950, Dorothy and Gerald E. Zehner were married. Gerald died on September 29, 1984.
A bookkeeper for a tourism company, Dorothy loved art and gardening. She enjoyed camping and was active in church activities.
She was a member of the Church of God, both in Plymouth and in Lakeland, Florida.
Dorothy is survived by three daughters and a son. Her daughters are Laura L. Miller, Minneapolis, Minnesota: Karen A (Robert) Green, Orlando, Florida, and Joy A. (Roy) Taylor, Tifton, Georgia. Her son is Mark A. (Kathy) Zehner, Jackson, Michigan.
Thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive together with a sister, Martha (Bill) Boughton.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her spouse, a son Barry Lynn Zehner and daughter Lisa Le Blanc. Three sisters and a brother also have died.
Friends are invited to celebrate Dorothy’s life with her family from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2007, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Indiana.
Funeral services for Dorothy will follow visitation at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
Burial will follow in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
