Dorothy Marie Thomas, 87, of Plymouth passed away Friday, May 4th, 2012 in Danville, Indiana. She was born February 5, 1925 in Plymouth, Indiana, the daughter of Alton and Rose (Halt) Carothers.
Dorothy graduated from Lapaz High School with the class of 1942. She lived nearly all of her life in the Plymouth area with the exception of the past 4 years, when she and Robert lived in the Danville, IN area with their daughter Patricia.
She was a member of the Helpful Hour Friendship Club.
Dorothy worked for a short while as a bank clerk in South Bend, but soon chose the life of a farm wife and mother as her career.
She and Robert spent several years of their retirement travelling the U.S. and making friends wherever they visited. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, sewing, puzzles, reading, and dancing. Each spring was eagerly anticipated with hunting mushrooms on her parent’s farm. Her greatest joy was watching her family members build great lives for themselves and become good citizens.
