Edith G. “Dee” Pittsford, 65, a resident of North 5th Street, Plymouth has died of natural causes at 10:47 p.m. Thursday evening, November 25, 2010 in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center – ER
Edith was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on July 11, 1945, the daughter of Harmon and Gladys J. (Moore) Woods. She graduated from East High School in Knoxville. In 1964 the family moved to Plymouth.
On August 23, 1982 in Arlington, Texas she married Edgar Pittsford who then preceded her in death in September of 1992.
Dee was known in the area as an outstanding and often outspoken waitress who always brightened ones day. She worked at the L&K Restaurant, Sunrise Omelet House and Christo’s Family Restaurant many years. She then worked as a cashier for Pak-A-Sak prior to experiencing health problems. She enjoyed dining out every Thursday with the girls and had done so earlier that Thanksgiving Day.
Dee loved gaming, bingo, reading and travel with family members out West.
Surviving is her son; Charles David Troutt and wife Faye of Jacksonville, Florida, two brothers; Charles (Tina) Perry of Orange Park, Florida, Dennis Woods of Plymouth, and two sisters; Mary (David) VanBlaricom of LasVegas and Rita (Howard) White of Plymouth. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, a sister Charlotte Woods and a brother Perry Edwards.
To honor Dee’s wishes a simple family service will take place.
