Elizabeth A. “Liz” Kersey, 66, passed away after a sudden heart attack at 10:08 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2013 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center- Plymouth Campus.
Born in Plymouth, Elizabeth was the daughter of Dale E. and Annabel (McKesson) Kersey. She attended the Plymouth school system.
In her younger years, Liz was a full-time mother to her daughter, Lisa. Later she did housekeeping for St. Joseph Regional Medical Center until she was forced into retirement after an injury.
She loved going for walks and going to Munday’s Restaurant every day for coffee. She loved being with her grandkids and was excited to meet her soon to be great-grandson. Liz was a really fun loving lady, who always had a smile on her face.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Wheatbrook of Plymouth; grandchildren, Travis Kersey (significant other, Debra) of Plymouth and Rachel (Mark) Wheatbrook-Clemons of Bremen; her soon to be great-grandson, Raymond Anthony Clemons.
Her siblings include Dale E. Kersey Jr., of Plymouth, Ben Kersey of Plymouth, Joyce Evans of Mishawaka, and Linda Pruitt of Plymouth, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Liz was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Brian Lee Kersey.
Visitation will be on Saturday, August 24, 2013 from 10 – 11 a.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. A Memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Charles Krieg officiating.
