Elizabeth B. Feece

A lifetime Plymouth area resident, Elizabeth B. (Betty) Feece, 88, died at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2006, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth. The family wishes to acknowledge the loving care provide by the nursing staff of the Terrace Wing.

Born in Royal Center, Indiana, on March 2, 1918, she was the daughter of Fred A. and Florence E. Mullendore Nethercutt. She attended Culver schools. Following her schooling, a nurturing Betty cared for new born babies and their mothers within their own homes. On September 5, 1937, in Plymouth, Betty and Robert L. Feece were married. Robert died on August 12, 2003. They spent almost 66 years of life together.

A homemaker, Betty enjoyed traveling Florida and the Midwest lake areas in their motor home, many time with a group of friends from a South Bend boat club. Betty loved to bake – especially Brownies.

She was a member of the Plymouth First United Church of Christ.

Betty is survived by a daughter, Emma “Jean” (Mrs. Erick) Wurzburger, South Bend, and daughter-in-law Jacqueline L. Feece of Plymouth.

Her four surviving grandchildren are Erica Zeithammer, Michael Wurzburger, Deena Kieler, and Teri Pairitz along with seven great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Jane Robertson, Marion, Indiana, and Phyllis J. Jowers, Beech Grove, Tennessee.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a step-mother, Dora L. Nethercutt, a son, Donavon D. Feece, a granddaughter Debra Wasowski, two brothers: Fredrick, Darrell Nethercutt and two step brothers: Billy Mullendore and Russell Clark.

Friends are invited to celebrate the life of Betty Feece on Friday, May 12, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.

Funeral services for Betty will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2006, in the First United Church of Christ, at 321 N. Center St., Plymouth. The Rev. Steve Voelker, pastor of the church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.

Gifts in memory of Betty may be made to the First United Church of Christ or the Alzheimer’s Assoc.
