Elizabeth Katherine (Bess) Carter died of natural causes at her residence, 410 N. Walnut St., Plymouth, with her brother and Hospice by her side, at 11:25 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 2007. She was 86-years-old.
Born on June 5, 1921, in Saskatchewan, Canada, Bess was the daughter of William H. and Katherine Macnab Carter. She graduated from Lucy Flower High School in Chicago Illinois. During her lifetime, she worked at numerous jobs and in many positions.
An avid reader, Bess enjoyed traveling. She was very religious. She was deeply involved in her church and was a member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Plymouth.
Bess is survived by her brother, John R. Carter, Plymouth.
Friends are invited to celebrate the life of Bess Carter with her family on Friday, September 14, 2007, from 10 to 12 p.m. at St. Michael’s. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at noon on Friday in the church. Fr. Bill Kummer, Pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church and Fr. Anthony Spanley, Pastor, of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Hamlet will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Bess’ memory may be given to the church or the Hospice and Palliative Care, Plymouth, Indiana.
