Elmer M. Stiles, 88, a lifelong resident of Plymouth, died of natural causes on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at 8:35 p.m. in his home, Plymouth.
The son of Charles and Mary (Lowry) Stiles, Elmer was born in Plymouth on July 15, 1919 and attended Plymouth schools.
On June 3, 1946, in Plymouth, Elmer and Myrtle F. Geller were married. Myrtle died on July 19, 1999. Elmer was a truck driver for Marshall County Beverage for 36 years. He retired in 1981.
He loved to hunt and work outside in his yard.
Elmer is survived by four sons and three daughters. His sons are Elmer D. (Alice), Donald E. (Diane), Richard (Hatsuko), and Delmas M. (Marcia) Stiles, all of Plymouth. Two daughters are from Plymouth: Betty J. Sarna and Sheryl K. (Karl) Johnson. Wanda J. Stiles lives in Conn.
Sixteen grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren also survive together with many nieces and nephews.
Elmer was preceded in death by six brothers, four sisters and one grandson, Damon Stiles.
Elmer’s family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Elmer will follow visitation on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Delmas Stiles will officiate.
Burial will be in the Tyner Cemetery, Tyner, Ind.
