Elsie E. Hill

Elsie E. Hill, 75, living in Plymouth since 1944, coming from Rensselaer, Ind., died at her residence, 1031 W. Adams St., Plymouth, at 9:50 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2005. Elsie died, following a cancer related illness, in the supportive care and company of her loving family and the Marshall County Hospice.

Born in Rensselaer, Ind., on August 13, 1929, she was the daughter of Maston and Eliza Miller Bailey. She attended schools in the Rensselaer area.

On June 3, 1944, in Plymouth, she and Ralph S. Hill were married. Ralph died on January 20, 2000.

Elsie worked as a Qualified Nursing Assistant for 45 years. She had been employed at both Pilgrim Manor and Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth.

She enjoyed sewing and quilting and loved tending to her flower gardens.

She was a member of the Aldine United Baptist Church of North Judson.

Elsie is survived by three sons and a daughter and their spouses.

They are, sons: Richard S. Hill, Plymouth; James E. and Sue Hill, Fairfield, Ohio; and Joseph and Karen Bailey, Plymouth. Her daughter is Diane Sue and James O’Brien, Plymouth.

Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive together with a brother, Edgar Bailey, Knox, and Ethel White, a sister, of North Judson.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, a sister and three half-brothers.

Friends will be welcomed by the family at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, on Saturday, March 5, 2005, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services for Elsie will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2005, in the funeral home. The Rev. Everett Mann, pastor of the Aldine United Baptist Church, North Judson, will officiate.

Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
