Elwood A. Renz, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024, at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on October 1, 1943, in Plymouth, Indiana, he was born to August A. Sr. and Erma M. (Huff) Renz. He attended Tyner High School, graduating with the class of 1963. He proudly served is country with the U.S. Air Force.

On June 18, 1967, he married Kay Simms at First Brethren Church in North Liberty, IN.

He worked for Hydro Aluminum North America as a material handler for 35 years before retiring in 2004. Elwood was a wonderful provider for his family making sure that they never went without the necessities. Most importantly Elwood lived out his faith as a devoted follower of Christ. He cherished his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He enjoyed working in his garden, especially when it came to his morning glories, pansies, lilies, snap dragons. Camping at Potato Creek was a family favorite that will always be near to his families heart.

He is survived by his wife Kay of Plymouth; daughters: Sheryl (Roger) Carmean of Port Richie, FL; Tammy (Jack) Stoner of Walkerton; sons: David (Susan) Renz of Plymouth; Gordon Renz of Plymouth; brothers: Ronald Renz of Plymouth, James Renz of Teegarden, August Renz jr of Knox; 4-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.  

Elwood was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald Eugene, sisters: Avis Howard and Ivis Holderread.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 11-1 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow with Pastors:  Justin Chambers, Brian Baughman and Rich Schieber officiating.

Burial will take place in the Morris/Polk Cemetery, Plymouth with military honors rendered by the U.S. Air Force and the Plymouth Am. Legion Post #27.
