Evelyn R. Simonin, 88, passed away with family by her bedside at 12:27 a.m. on Tuesday May 22, 2018 at the Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester.
Evelyn was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan on October 26, 1929 to Raymond Perigal and Mildred (Clark) Johnson.
Evelyn would become the bride of Arthur Charles Simonin on November 9, 1950. She was an outgoing, well-spoken mother and wife with a “spirited†humor, to her husband and six children. Arthur would precede her in death on January 14, 1980. The family would move to Paulding, Ohio in 1973. She lived there with her growing family until 2007 when she moved to Plymouth to live with her daughter, Connie. She was a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary #2405-Drill Team and the Paulding VFW Post #587 Ladies Auxiliary. Evelyn was an avid bowler, enjoyed crocheting, was an outstanding gardener and loved animals, especially her dog, Suzy.
She is survived by her children: Debra K. Rose, Connie S. (Gene Hundt) Deckard, Arthur C. (Carol) Simonin II, Alvin R. (Kim) Simonin and Brian K. Simonin; grandchildren: Stephanie Gaylor, Scott Herrell, Donna McPherson, Toni Moore, Melissa Simonin, Mason Simonin, Steven Simonin, Jessica Smith, Allie Simonin, Sandy Mattlingy, Mandy Simonin, Amanda Suffel and Allissa LaFountain; 26 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Evelyn is also survived by her siblings: (Blanch) Lorraine, Barbara, Donna, Donald and Millie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Marjorie June Simonin, son-in-law, Crit Rose, a granddaughter and siblings: Albert, Dennis, Florence and Raymond.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow at 7 p.m.
Burial will be in the Cooper Cemetery in Paulding, Ohio at 11 a.m. on Saturday May 26, 2018.
