Frederick L. Rentschler, 77, of The Villages, Florida, died Sunday, February 11, 2007 in Lady Lake Specialty Care Center, Lady Lake, Florida.
The son of Carl and Sally Williams Rentschler, Fred was born in Plymouth, Indiana on March 30, 1929.
Fred was a resident of Fort Wayne, Indiana until 1999, when he retired from Indiana & Michigan Electric Company, now American Electric Power, as a Senior Power Engineer. After his retirement, he and his wife, the former Marilyn Hoover, moved to The Villages, Florida.
He was a member of the Purdue Alumni Association, Charter Member of Indiana Chapter #1 Korean War Veterans Association, an Honorary Duke of Paducah, and a Life
Member of the American Legion, Chapter #347. In Florida, he was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, The Indiana Club, and the Polo Ridge Club.
Fred is survived by Marilyn, his wife of 56 years, two daughters: Jane Helton of Lafayette, Indiana and Amy Stehlik of Marietta, Georgia, and three grandchildren.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, Indiana.
A Memorial Service for Fred will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14,2007 in Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michign St., Plymouth, Indiana.
