Gale W. Miller, 79, a resident of 725 Poplar Street, Plymouth, died following an illness at 11:10 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2000 in St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. A Resident of Plymouth for 18 years, he was formerly of Tyner, Indiana.
Born on May 31, 1920, in Tyner, Gale was the son of Charles and Nellie Miller. Gale graduated from Tyner High School.
On September 16, 1972 Gale and Margaret H. Dygert were married in Tyner.
A self-employed milk truck driver, Gale also worked as a crossing guard for Conrail Railroad in Plymouth, retiring in 1970.
Gale enjoyed sporting events. He especially enjoyed watching basketball and baseball.
A lifelong member of the Tyner United Methodist Church, Gale was also a 50-year member of the Walkertown Masonic Lodge 619.
Gale is survived by his wife Margaret, his step-daughter, Carole S. and Wendell Ringle of Rochester, and three step-sons. His step-sons are Charles L. and Judy Romig of Copperas Cove, Texas and Roger and Julie Romig of Culver, and Jon and Cindy Romig of Argos. Sixteen step-grandchildren survive as well, together with a brother, Ben and Lila Miller of Indianapolis, and a sister Julie Miller of Pontiac Michigan. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-daughter Marla Carmean.
Friends may visit with Gale’s family on Sunday, January 16, 2000 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson – Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, where a Masonic Service will held at 8 p.m by the Walkertown Masonic Lodge #619.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 17, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Tyner, Rev. Dave Inskeep will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Gale’s name to the United Methodist Church at Tyner.
Burial will be in Tyner Cemetery, Tyner, Indiana.
