Long time Plymouth community resident Gertrude “Rusty” Hampton, died February 4, 2008, while wintering in Avon Park, FL. Rusty was born October 2, 1917, in Bremen, IN the daughter of Charles W. and Rapha Hardy Kling.
April 3, 1937, Gertrude and Willard E. Hampton were married, in South Bend, IN.
Rusty retired from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles as a Customer Service Clerk.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and enjoyed golfing, playing cards and the NBA.
Rusty is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Paul Felten, Ft. Wayne, IN; three grandchildren survive as well, Debra Felten and Nancy Felten both of Hillsboro OR, Wendy and Kevin Cecil of Orlando FL, and one great-grandchild, Kylie Cecil, also of Orlando.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Willard, a daughter Martha Jo and her husband, George Young, a grandson, Rob Young, a great-granddaughter, Emilie Cecil, one brother, Orville Kling, two sisters, Lillian Annis and Marcella Clauss and her parents Charles and Rapha. Visitation will be held Monday February 11, 2008 from 4 to 7 pm in Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday February 12, 2008 in the Trinity United Methodist Church, S. Michigan Street in Plymouth. Pastor William Kaster will officiate.
A private family graveside service will be held prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Trinity United Methodist Church.
