Harvey Gaines, Jr., a lifetime Plymouth area resident died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004, in the Plymouth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where he had been a patient for one week.
The son of Harvey and Elizabeth E. Watkins Gaines, Sr., Harvey was born on May 22, 1932, in Plymouth. He attended Plymouth schools.
Harvey was a tree trimmer, known to many around this area. He also loved to fish and hunt. Harvey was also a great mushroom hunter.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda and Deb, his longtime companion, Bev Baltes, and her children, Cindy, Bonnie, Karen and Ronnie. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive along with three sisters, Tish Hillman, Pauline Atkins and Esther VanBlaricom.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Dean Sutherlin, and two sisters, Ethel Warner and Grace Gaines.
Friends may visit with Harvey’s family from 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2004, at Johnson – Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Indiana.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, in the funeral home.
Harvey will be missed by his family and his many friends. If Harvey could have one last word to say to everyone, He’d say “What Ever”.
