Helen I. Sauer, 81, died at 10:07 a.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2004, at the Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac, Ind. She had been a resident of Winamac for the last three years. The daughter of Russell and Hazel Parks Marsh, Helen was born on August 30, 1922, in Warsaw, Ind. She spent most of her life in the Warsaw and Plymouth areas. Helen graduated from Atwood High School. On June 24, 1950, Helen and Leonard Sauer were married in Bremen, Ind. Leonard preceded her in death on January 1, 1998.
A homemaker, Helen enjoyed raising her family, and cooking for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter: Sharon and Ben Schoff of Plymouth, and two sons: William and Bonnie Sauer of Winamac and Jerry and Nancy Marsh of Warsaw. Thirteen grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren also survive, along with two sisters: Mary Hammersly of Kokomo and Virginia and Douglas Baker of Warsaw, and a brother: James and Jeanette Marsh of Warsaw.
Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2004, at the Johnson – Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Ind.
Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Roger Dickson, will be held in the funeral home immediately following visitation at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Osceola, Ind.
