Helen L. Rodgers-Wennerstrom, 87, a lifetime area resident, died of natural causes in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, at 10:28 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2006.
Helen was born in Plymouth on April 23, 1919. She was the daughter of Ora Dale and Iva Mae Crum Smith.
She attended West School.
She was first married in 1938 to Curtis Rodgers. Curtis died in 1963.
Her second husband was Bill Wennerstrom, in 1968. He died in 2000.
A homemaker, Helen enjoyed gardening, going to garage sales and mushroom hunting.
She is survived by two daughters, a son and a daughter-in-law.
Her daughters are Viola and her husband, Wayne, Luse, Monon, Indiana, and Phyllis Reinhold, Culver, Indiana, her son is Kenneth Rodgers of Plymouth and her daughter-in-law is Susan Rodgers of Plymouth.
Twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive Helen’s death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Curtis and Bill and her son, Melvin. A sister, Mary Scott-Williams, has also died before her.
Friends will be welcomed to celebrate Helen’s life with the sharing of memories on Tuesday, December 5, 2006, from 10 to noon at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Indiana.
Funeral services for Helen, officiated by Rev. Wayne Mikel, will follow the visitation at noon on Tuesday.
Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
