lrene B. Kiger, 79, 805 Baker St. River Park, Plymouth, and a lifetime resident of Marshall County has died.
lrene died at 4:02 AM on Thursday, March 16, 2000, following an unexpected heart attack, in the Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
A Plymouth Lincoln High School graduate of 1939, lrene was born on February 19, 1921 in Plymouth, Indiana, the daughter of John Franklin and Orpha Snyder Sullivan.
On January 17, 1940, in Plymouth, she was married to Leon Kiger. Leon preceded her in death on February 10, 1984.
For 19 dedicated years, lrene worked for R.R. Donnelley and Sons of Warsaw, as a secretary in the Customer Service Department. After retiring in 1981, lrene continued to enjoy her two favorite pastimes of bowling and knitting.
lrene is survived by her son, Walter John Kiger and his wife Margaret of Leola, Pennsylvania, Amy Williams, a granddaughter, of West Caldwell, New Jersey, and John Kiger, a grandson, residing 1n Steelton, Pennsylvania. Two great-grandchildren, along with a sister, Vera Pletcher, of South Bend, Indiana, and two brothers also survive. lrene’s brothers are Dale Sullivan of Monticello, Indiana, and Robert Sullivan, residing in Fair Oak, California.
lrene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leon, a sister Ilo Williams and two brothers, lvo and Ronald Sullivan.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, March 19, 2000 from 4 to 7 PM at the Johnson- Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 North Michigan Street, Plymouth.
Rev. Dr. David Moffett-Moore, pastor of the First United Church of Christ, will officiate at lrene’s funeral service in the funeral home on Monday, March 20, 2000 at 1:30 PM.
Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery located in Bourbon, Indiana.
Memorial Contributions may be made in lrene’s name to the American Heart Association.
