Irene May Stone, 85, 14535 Lincoln Highway, Plymouth, died in the Pilgrim Manor Nursing Center, at 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2004.

Irene’s main focus in her life was her family and her church. She was a charter member of the Sunrise Chapel.

Born in Bronson, Michigan on May 3, 1919, Irene was the daughter of Louis and Rosa Etta Billet Cripe. She attended Lakeville High School and graduated from a South Bend beauty college in 1961.

On August 2, 1940, in Inwood, Ind., Irene and Harold E. Stone were married. Harold died on June 20, 1988.

She was a homemaker and worked as the secretary for Stone Excavating for several years.

Irene is survived by three sons, a daughter and their spouses.

Her daughter is Rosemary and Don Laughlin, Claypool, Ind., and her sons are: John and Judy Stone and Jay and Charlotte Stone, all of Plymouth, and Ben and Vickie Stone of Rochester, Ill.

Fourteen grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren also survive.

Three sisters survive as well. They are Ruth Houston, New Paris, Ind., Lena Hoagland, Minnesota and Mary Beron, Bremen, Ind.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a daughter, Linda. Viola Swihart, a sister and four brothers, Cleo, Elwood, Clayton and Alva Cripe have also died.

Visitation will be in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, on Friday, November 26, 2004, from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour before services at the church on Saturday, November 27, 2004.

Funeral services conducted by Pastor Rustin Krapfl, pastor of the church, will be held in Sunrise Chapel, 11802 Lincoln Hwy., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2004.

Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, Ind.
