Jack D. Dixon, Sr., 59, a resident at 7480 Plymouth-LaPorte Trail for the past seven months, has died. Jack recently returned home from Florida where he lived for over 20 years.
Jack died of natural causes at 8:44 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2004, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.
He was born in Plymouth on January 13, 1945, the son of Cecil and Agnes Luse Dixon. He attended Plymouth schools.
Jack worked as a maintenance man on condominiums in Florida. He liked to fish and enjoyed a good glass of beer. His favorite pastime was being with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his three children: Jack D. Dixon, Jr., Mishawaka, Ind., and daughters, Shelly and Jacqueline.
Six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive, together with three sisters and three brothers.
His brothers are: Richard L. Dixon and Joe Dixon, both of Plymouth, and James and Amy Dixon of Mishawaka.
His sisters are: Dora Ann and Ray Van Blaricom of Plymouth, Sandra and Charlie Miller of LaPaz, and Joyce and Mark Arndt of Osceola, Ind.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Tina Dixon.
Visitation and sharing of happy memories with the family will be held on Monday, March 8, 2004, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Charles Krieg, pastor of the Salem United Methodist Church, Bremen, Ind., will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2004.
Interment will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, Ind.
Memorial gifts in Jack’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
