James Henry Farkas, 61, 13250 S. Rose Road, died at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2000. Admitted to Pilgrim Manor only hours before his death, Jim died of natural causes.
Born in Benton Harbor, Mich., he was the son of Levi F. Edgerley and the late Ruby Horton Edgerley. He attended West High School.
In the United States Army for four years, Jim served in Korea.
He worked as a laborer in the scrap metal recycling business and was employed by the Harry E. Franklin scrap yard until 1980.
He enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
Jim is survived by his father, Levi F. Edgerley, a son and two grandchildren. Other survivors are Charles Brady, his cousin and best friend of Stevensville, Mich., three aunts; Thelma Ronk, Plymouth, Helen Brady, Benton Harbor, Mich., and Nancy Horton, of Duluth, Minn. also survive.
His mother preceded Jim in death.
Visitation will be today Thursday, May 11, 2000, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
The Rev. Charles Krieg, pastor of the Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church, will conduct services at the funeral home on Friday, May 12, 2000, at 10:30 a.m.
The Plymouth VFW post #1162 will honor Jim will military graveside services at Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
