Jamie Lynn Vervynckt, 30, passed away early Wednesday morning in the emergency room of the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, following an unexpected illness.
Jamie was born on October 17, 1979 in South Bend Memorial Hospital, the daughter of Stephen A. and Brenda J. (Shirley) Vervynckt. Raised in Plymouth, as a youth she was involved in the 4H Horse Program and graduated from Plymouth High School with the Class of 1998. There she was involved in Speech and Drama.
She then received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University – South Bend in May of 2005. She loved working with children.
Jamie had a passion for life and lived every day with a big heart, putting others before herself. She liked to dance and sing especially karaoke with friends. Her greatest joy was time spent with her nephew Colten.
Survivors include her parents Steve and Brenda of Plymouth, her sister; Jennifer A. Vervynckt and fiancée Blaine Vermilyer and their son Colten of Walkerton, her brother; Joseph M. Vervynckt and Jessica Russo of Plymouth and maternal grandparents Max and Mary Shirley of Lakeville along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Proceeding Jamie in death were her paternal grandparents; August and Dorothy Vervynckt.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2009 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home, the Rev. Tim Gropp of the Calvary Chapel Granger will preside.
Burial will follow in the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
