Janice E. Vancza, 72, of N. Michigan Street, passed away following an illness at 12:20 a.m. at home in the company and loving care of her family on Friday, May 16, 2014.
Born on June 29, 1941 in her home in Polk Township, Janice Eileen was the daughter of Joseph W. and Bonnie Jean (Lambert) Eckstein. She graduated from Tyner High School with the class of 1959.
Janice married Charles S. “Chuck” Vancza in the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Walkerton, Indiana on March 13, 1965.
She worked as a clerk for R.E.M.C and for New World Products (B.P.C.). Janice retired in 2007, from Quality Assurance.
Janice loved to visit with family and friends. She was very fond of her past employees, many remembering her in their thoughts, prayers and frequent visits.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Plymouth and formerly a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Walkerton.
Janice is survived by her husband, Chuck, and their two children: Richard A. (Kari) Vancza and Deborah A. (Timothy) Denlinger, all of Plymouth. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and her sister, Joan E. Eckstein of Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 3 – 6 p.m. EDT on Sunday, May 18, 2014 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m.EDT on Monday, May 19, 2014 in St. Michael Catholic Church, 613 N. Center St., Plymouth, with Rev. John Korcsmar, C.S.C. officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Michael Cemetery located at the corner of W. Harrison and Oak Roads.
