Jeannie M. Ellis, 76, formerly of Parkview Street, passed away with family surrounding her at 1:46 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home in Plymouth.
Born in LaPorte, Indiana, Jeannie was the daughter of Franklin and Eva Marie (Collier) Bush.
Jeannie was a member of the Moose Lodge in Plymouth. She enjoyed cooking for a profession, as well as, for her family. Jeannie loved canning, gardening and crocheting. Some of her favorite things to watch were the Cubs, CSI and Bones.
She is survived by her children and their families: Tina Hamlin of Oxnard, CA and children Michael, Walter and Megan, Donald (Deb) Newland of Rolling Prairie and children Jimmy, Donnie, Christopher, Gina (Rob) Moore of Culver and children Robert and Alex, Lisa Mae of Culver and children Stephanie, Savannah and Spencer Mae-Croft, Douglas (Meredith) Newland of Rolling Prairie and children Amber, Jacob, Sarah, Kayla and Hunter, Julie Sweeney of Walkerton and daughter Ellianna and Dean (Tammy) Newland of LaPorte and children Codie, Colton and Cash; and 7 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Barry Bush of LaPorte, Barbara Hall of LaPorte, Bonnie Brainard of LaPorte, and Betty McIntyre of LaPorte.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Meredith, Lester, Cyril, Sam, Frank and sisters: LouAnn Rogers and Eva Wilson.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. EST on Thursday April 13, 2017 at Crossroads Church, 1650 N. Oak Road, Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow in the church at 3 p.m. EST with Pastor Scott Yoder officiating.
There will be a private family memorial service at a later date.
