Jimmie L. DeMien, 68, of Plymouth, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center – Mishawaka Campus.
Jimmie was born February 25, 1948 in Plymouth, to the late Walter and Mary (Heyde) DeMien.
He graduated from LaVille High School in 1968. Jimmie served in the United States Army during Vietnam, and was honorably discharged in 1971.
He married Virginia Downham on August 18, 1990; and she survives. Jimmie had worked at Modines, Indiana Heat and Prices Nursery.
His hobbies include going to races and working outside. He loved and enjoyed all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jimmie was a third generation member and deacon at the North Salem Church of God.
Surviving is his wife; Virginia, four daughters and three sons; Jimmie (Teresa) DeMien, Julie (Eric) Weedling, Jason (Mandy) DeMien, Tammy (Tim) Jesswien, Geannie (Jeremy) Arnett, and Krista Webb, fifteen grandchildren and three –great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother; Glen (Linda) DeMien, sister; Shirley (Tim) Pearson, sister-in-law; Edith (Mike) Sheapard and many nieces and nephews.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren.

Friends may visit with her family from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2017 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 North Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 27, 2017 at the funeral home, with Pastor Bob Collier officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery with Military Honors provided by members of the American Legion Post 27, Veterans of Foreign Wars- Marshall County Post 1162 and D.A.V.
