JoAnn Powers

JoAnn Powers, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at home surrounded by her loved ones.

JoAnn was born on December 16, 1940 in Elwood, Indiana to Charles and Hilda (Kerchel) Wicks.

JoAnn graduated from Lapaz High School in Lapaz, Indiana. She married Robert Powers on May 12, 1973 and they were together for 45 years until his passing on November 18, 2018.

JoAnn retired in 2005 from 1st Source Bank working in the Lapaz and Bremen locations. She was also a member at the County Line Brethren Church where they attended for many years.

JoAnn is survived by a brother; Charles (Violet) Wicks of Plymouth, Indiana, Sisters: Mary Wicks of Lapaz, Indiana and Linda (Fred) Holdeman of North Liberty, Indiana. Also surviving are nieces and nephews: Randy and Tammy Holdeman, Jeff Holdeman, Diana and Mark Dickson, Mike and Paula Holdeman, Fred and Wendy Holdeman, Paula and Dean Korsmo, Steve and Karen Wicks, Romagene and David Deuel, and Pamela and Michael Markley.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her son Paul in 1994, Husband; Robert, brothers; Robert and David Wicks and sisters: Betty and Carolyn Wicks.

JoAnn was able to go home and finally see Jesus and her family who went before her. She was a good sister and aunt to all of us. We will miss you for awhile, JoAnn, but will see you again.

Visitation for JoAnn will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 at the New Oak Hill cemetery Chapel from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. and a funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Wyatt Smith of the County Line Brethren Church officiating.
